Here’s what people are saying about the Maestro classes.
As a Toastmasters, I took the American Accent Development and Accent Reduction coaching from Cara in 2014. Coach Cara opened the door wide open on how to reduce accent and speak with elegance.
For the first time, I understood that a native speaker does not usually enunciate every single syllable. Weak form and contracting method are widely used.
For the first time, I realized the importance of intonation - ups and downs, peaks and valleys, and musicality of American English.
For the first time, I embraced the concept of focusing on the content words and squeezing the function words to be more "native-like."
Coach Cara's coaching service continued to impact me greatly, even after I finished my coaching program. I prepared for a job promotion interview in early September 2015. I recorded my prepared interview answers and asked for Cara's evaluation.
Coach Cara provided many invaluable suggestions: (1) stress the key powerful words – regulatory, auditing, accounting and many other words, (2) pause between important concepts or sentences, and (3) reconsider examples to use for a specific job requirement.
Three weeks later I received the promotion notice. I just cannot emphasize more the importance of elegant and pleasant American English accent in advancing your career, broadening your life landscape, and augmenting your quality of life.
Please have a strong desire to improve yourself, please don't let a word slide by if you believe you are misunderstood due to your accent, and please seek professional coaching help from Cara Fulton.

When I signed up for this class I didn’t know what to expect, but Cara came prepared with a thorough syllabus. This course opened my eyes to so many things I never even noticed before. In fact, I can say that I love this class. This is the most focused hour of my week!
If I can change my accent, anybody can. Before taking this class people were always asking me to repeat myself. What did you say? Or worse, they’d just ignore me. Now I speak for my work group at conferences. I think it was Cara’s feedback via email that helped me the most.
I liked that the information covered was of a wide spectrum. I think we hit just about every common "No, No" that there is; along with the common misuses of words, writing with precision, and punctuation. These were all items I needed a good review of.
I like the writing homework every week. Cara gave us great feedback each time. This practice is very helpful for me. The whole course was clear and concise.
Ms. Cara is a great teacher. Her presentations were well thought out. She’s funny and explains well. I like the opportunities to participate in discussions and other activities. The teacher respects everyone’s ideas. She takes time to explain and makes sure that we all understand.
The course has been so helpful; it has enormously improved my writing ability. University writing would have been quite difficult if I would have not taken this course. Not to forget, the exciting, informative and engaging lectures made this course my favorite this semester.
I learned how to write research paper and to present my power point in the whole class! What I like best about this course is Cara’s vitality. She’s always in a good mood and very helpful. She tries to relate class teaching with materials from the real world. Thanks a lot for the wonderful semester!
It is a very important class, varied (because several nationalities participate in it), very rich (because many topics are developed), and we exchange very well. We are well evaluated. It was instructed with great enthusiasm and lots of fun! Cara makes learning a pure joy.
